About Our Practice

Liesen Family Dental provides general, restorative, cosmetic, and family dental care in Collinsville, IL, with a focus on comfort, modern technology, and complete transparency. We want patients to feel informed and at ease, not pressured, judged, or rushed through their care.

Our office is designed to make dentistry feel different. From routine cleanings and checkups to same-day crowns, Invisalign® treatment, oral surgery, dental implants, TMJ care, sleep medicine, and emergency dentistry, our team works with each patient to understand their needs and create a treatment plan that fits their smile, goals, and budget.

Technology also plays an important role in how we care for our patients. With tools like CEREC® same-day crowns, the iTero™ scanner, and advanced dental equipment, we can plan treatment with greater precision, improve comfort, and make many appointments more convenient.

Dr. Matthew Liesen, DDS

Dr. Matthew Liesen is an Illinois native who grew up in Chicago Heights. He earned his degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before attending Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine, where he was part of the school’s very first graduating class.

Before founding Liesen Family Dental, Dr. Liesen began his dental career in public health at the Pike County Health Department in Pittsfield, Illinois. He later transitioned into private practice in Peoria, gaining experience in patient-centered dental care before opening his own practice in Collinsville.

Today, Dr. Liesen brings that background into every patient visit. His approach combines clinical knowledge, modern technology, and a genuine interest in helping people feel comfortable at the dentist. He believes patients should understand their options, feel respected during their appointments, and receive care that is customized to their individual needs.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Liesen enjoys homebrewing his own beer, a skill he has been perfecting for many years. He has also run the Chicago Marathon four times. He looks forward to getting to know patients and families throughout Collinsville and helping them maintain healthy, confident smiles for years to come.

I decided to make an appointment with him because I figured that if an employee raves about their boss, the boss must be fabulous! She is right! He is a wonderful, caring, knowlegable, GENTLE, experienced dentist! In fact, I would say he is the BEST dentist have ever been to! Dr. Liesen placed an implant in my mouth and it feels as if it has always been there...no pain, no complications! Additionally, having been to the office several times this summer I have never endured an endless wait to be seen. The office is run so efficiently and I sincerely appreciate that too!
